This specialized fishing rig is designed to maximize your effectiveness when targeting pagri (sea bream/porgies) and scorpionfish. It focuses on compactness for easier handling in deep water. We've chosen Seaguar Pink Label for both the main leader and snells due to its excellent invisibility and abrasion resistance.

Rig Components

Main Leader (Trave)

• Diameter: 0.62 mm Seaguar Pink Label. This line is robust and almost invisible, making it perfect for these bottom-dwelling species.

• Length: 1.5 meters. This shorter length makes the rig more manageable, greatly reducing tangles during descent and retrieval, especially when using an anchor winch or fishing from smaller boats. It still allows for effective hook distribution, covering a good portion of the water column.

Snell Lines (Braccioli)

• Diameter: 0.52 mm Seaguar Pink Label. This slightly lighter diameter acts as a "fuse" point, protecting your main leader in case of a snag, while maintaining essential invisibility.

• Length: 40 cm. This length offers a great balance: it's short enough to minimize tangles between snells or with the main leader, yet long enough for your bait to move naturally and attractively. It's particularly effective for scorpionfish, which are often less mobile and found in crevices, and for pagri, who might prefer more stationary baits.

• Number: We'll use 2 snells on the main leader, spaced 50 cm apart. You can connect them using high-quality three-way swivels or secure knots with beads and stoppers.

Hooks

• Type: Gamakatsu Octopus 1/0. These hooks are ideal for their robustness, sharpness, and shape, which promotes excellent hook-setting and reduces fish loss.

• Size: The 1/0 size is versatile, perfect for common baits like shrimp, squid strips, or small fish – all favorites of both pagri and scorpionfish.

Swivels and Final Connection

• Three-way Swivels: Use high-quality three-way swivels to connect your snells to the main leader.

• Solid Ring: At the very top of the rig, a solid ring connects to your reel's main line. This solid ring provides an extremely strong and reliable connection point, ideal for optimally transmitting even the most subtle bites and withstanding strong pulls.
