This is the state of the art of the jigging technique, born in Japan and now spread all over the world, elevating the classic action of jigging to another dimension. Slow Pitch Jigging does not mean slow retrievals. It is a continuous sequence of stop and go (pitch) recoveries. It is basically one "pitch" per second. This tempo is very slow compared to the traditional style of jigging and has three main variations that can be combined: Slow Pitch Jerk, Hi Pitch Jerk, Long Fall Jerk. This technique is usually done with a baitcasting or multiplier reel. This type of reel gives you the advantage of knowing exactly when the bait has hit the bottom, controlling the depth more easily and improving direct contact with the line. If you are expecting large prey, choose a reel like the Ocea Jigger, without the level wind system. However, level wind reels such as the Ocea Calcutta can work perfectly when the target is smaller fish with a Light Slow Jigging rod.
