Light, medium or even large lures, with spinning or baitcasting reels, the Expride range covers it all, with a sensitivity that few rods can match. Each model is also available in two configurations, a 1+1 (one piece with detachable handle) and a 2-piece (equal length sections). There really is plenty to choose from.
The remarkable sensitivity you feel when using the Expride is the result of two unique Shimano technologies. The high modulus carbon blanks are built with Hi-Power X technology. This reduces the twisting of the blank when casting and playing fish, resulting in a very responsive feel. In addition, the Carbon Monocoque handle transfers more information from the blank to your hand, allowing for an unprecedented sense of what is happening with the lure under the water. To further increase the sensitivity and overall performance of the rod, the Expride is equipped with Fuji SiC guides and a lightweight Shimano Ci4+ reel seat to suit spinning or baitcasting reels.
And just when you thought things couldn’t get any better, the outstanding performance is accompanied by a classic gloss black blank and a cork fore grip, one of the most attractive combinations we’ve seen.
In use, the Expride doesn’t disappoint either. The 1+1 models have a one-piece main section that curves with a seamless fast action, offering sensitivity and responsiveness in equal measure. For a more convenient carrying solution, traditional two-piece options are also available on all models, which, once assembled, are almost indistinguishable from the one-piece.
